Red Hot Chili Peppers Bassists Flea Is A Bee Keeping Super Hero! We Need More People Like Him!

Another cool story to hit the internet this week is the news that the Red Hot Chilli Peppers bassist Flea has turned his hand to bee keeping in order to help save the planet.

There is a huge decline in the numbers of bees around the world and this really is bad news for mankind.

Albert Einstein is believed to have said this about the humble bee when discussing the importance of them:

einstein bee quote

Bees help pollinate the plants including crops and they keep the plant food that we rely on growing.

Flea started bee-keeping in 2015 and is already managing over 200,000 insects. He has 3 bee hives in his back garden which house around 60,000 bees each!

Flea’s personal love for bees as well as his concerned of the collapse of the bee population known as ‘Colony Collapse’ motivated him to start his own apiary.

Recently he has added images of himself with his bees to his instagram account. “Me about to get busy with my beautiful little bees that I love,” he wrote last June.

We love Flea for doing this for the planet and the future generations. We need to save the bee!

For those of you who have never heard of Flea’s band the Red Hot Chili Peppers (Where the hell have you been living!) or if you are a RHCP fan here is a video for you to enjoy of them doing what they do best… making great music. Enjoy!

Flea is not the only celebrity to start a bee apiary to help save the species and the planet, Morgan Freeman has too and we need more people like them. What do you say?
