This Tiny House Is Seriously Cool But Guess What It Is Made From…

Yes that is right: the house is built mainly from old shipping pallets. The designers at I-Beam Design came up with the idea after they were told the incredible fact that 84% of the world’s refugees could be housed if they built shelters from a year’s supply of recycled American pallets.

What this means is that 33 million people could be housed within a year and a half by using recycled pallets. That’s a lot needy people housed in a very simple and easy to build style of housing.

What is incredible is that you do not need a lot of skill or know how to build a home from pallets and they can be built in one day. The pallet house was designed specifically as a transitional home for refugees returning to Kosovo.

“The Pallet House is an inexpensive, efficient and easily realizable solution to the problem of housing people displaced by natural disaster, plagues, famine, political and economic strife or war. It is intended to serve returning refugees who come home and find their house partially or fully destroyed. This type of transitional housing bridges the gap between temporary tent shelter and permanent home.”I-Beam Design
