The eerie images below are taken from what looks like an apocalyptic scene from an episode of the “Walking Dead”, but in actual fact they are the last taken photos of an old car graveyard in Belgium.
The Chatillion Car Graveyard.
Although, there are a few tales and urban legends about how they actually got there.
Some say they were left behind by US soldiers after World War II battles in the region. At the time they could not ship them back to the US so instead they “hid” them in the forests until it was more convenient to retrieve them.
We like this story – it seems every one was looting during wars! Anyway, the locals in the area disagree that this is the case and in fact it is just an old car dump and in fact the vehicles are all cars made after WWII.
Either way, the pictures are awesome and it would have made a phenomenal set for a post-apocalypse film!
